The Date and Time: Friday, June 19, 2015  10:30AM to 1PM
The Event: A tutored tasting of Masciarelli Wines (Abruzzo) with owner Marina Cvetic.
The Venue: Taverna Mercatto on Bremner.
The Target Audience: wine writers and sommeliers
The Availability/Catalogue: The wines are available through the agency, Stem Wine Group
The Quote/Background: Marina spoke about the family's winery and then proceeded to talk about each wine, asking for comments. Food came out near the end as the tasting ran over.
The Wines: I was particularly interested because Marina has been coming many times to Toronto for the Stem portfolio tasting and so it was good to renew an acquaintance. Also, my maternal grandparents came from the hills of Abruzzi.

The Food: it was family style for salad, seviche, arancini (two kinds?), meatball, pizza (two kinds). Enough for an army although there were just nine of us.
The Downside: It was in the middle of my usual Vintages media tasting.
The Upside: Mercatto was just a 10 minute walk away from the LCBO tasting.
