The Date and Time: Tuesday May 2, 2017  6:30PM – 9 PM
The Event: The Extraordinary Taste of Tuscany
  The Venue: Terroni Adelaide
The Target Audience: friends of the Italian Trade Commission in a walk-around, with no pressure.
The Availability/Catalogue: apart from the wines, this was more of a show and tell about DOPs from Tuscany. Featured were Pecorino Toscano PDO, Chianti Classico DOCG, Finocchiona PGI, Olio Chianti Classico PDO, and Prosciutto Toscano PDO.
The Quote/Background: Only the wines seemed to have brand names, although I suspected something about Il Forteto and Tagionato amongst the cheeses.
The Wines: There were chianti classicos poured but no list, so my scribbles will have to do (It was dark and very difficult to see vintage dates)
  -Gabbiano Riserva
  -San Felice
  -Vicchiomaggio La Prima Gran Selezione
  -Valiano Riserva
  -Fonterutoli Mazzei
  -DieVole
  -Vigne Instine 2014
The Food: there were stations with olive oil and cheeses to sample, spaghetti with garlic and olive oil and cheese, porchetta, finocchiona salami, and prosciuto toscano. Also, platters came around with pizza squares.
The Downside: tutti matti in the audience, especially at the wine bar.
The Upside: a good chance to see some Italian food. Was this part of the SIAL package?
