The Date and Time: Tuesday June 13, 2017  3:30PM to 5:30 PM
The Event: Exclusive seminar/tasting of La Tordera's Proseccos
The Venue: GBC Chef's House Tasting Lab
The Target Audience: wine writers and sommeliers
The Availability/Catalogue: wines are available through Katy Moore of K Cellars.
The Quote/Background: Matteo Burani from La Tordera spoke on the origins of the company. They started vineyards in 1918 in the steep hills of Valdobbiadene and then moved to wine production only in 2003. The non-grafted root stock grapes are all hand-harvested and estate-grown and bottled. They have a green certificate from CasaClima. Three of the wines have been submitted to Vintages, but most are just private orders through K Cellars.
The Wines: We tasted five wines (they make at least eight), all of them vintage dated.

-La Tordera Serrai Extra Dry  $212.88 per case of 12
The Food: appetizers and bites of sausages, mushroom quiche, chocolate squares.
The Downside: I had just come from a very heavy Australian wine trade show, so I was a bit rushed.
The Upside: this was my first Prosecco seminar from just one producer.
