  The Quote/Background: I write about wines but I also love beer, and this   was a good opportunity to catch up with the latest developments in barley in   Scotland.
  The Beers: There were two remarkable ciders – Thistly Cross Traditional   Cider 6.2% and Thistly Cross Whisky Cask Cider 6.9% - both worthy of 4   stars.

  The Upside: a chance to taste some great Scottish beer.
