  ***1/2 BETTER -- Three and a Half Stars (88 – 90 in Quality/Price Rating   terms):
  -Nugan Estate Frasca's Lane King Valley Victoria Chardonnay 2013
  -Nugan Estates McLaren Parish Shiraz 2012, ~$25
  -Nugan Estates Alfredo Dried Grape 2012, Vintages ~$25    [amarone-style]
  *** GOOD -- Three Stars (85 – 87 in Quality/Price Rating terms):

  The Food: we were served a plate of small bites, with PR cheese, roaring   forties cheese, crab salad, peach and apricot preserves on toast, and pickled   cascade hops – all meant to go with the wines.
  The Downside: we didn't get started until 11:30
  The Upside: a chance to speak with Matthew Nugan himself.
