The Availability/Catalogue: some wines are at the LCBO, the rest are at
the winery, but all should be available since they are current
vintages. The catalogue was nicely arranged by sub-region within
Ontario, beginning with Lake Erie North Shore, Niagara Escarpment,
Niagara-on-the-Lake, Pelee Island, Prince Edward County, "Emerging
Regions" and one "Virtual" winery.
The Quote/Background: Attendance was steady all afternoon and trades
people really seemed engrossed with talking to winemakers and reps. Is
there now a buzz about Ontario wines?
The Wines: As always, I try to taste and rate comparable wines. There
were 185 or so wines in all. Prices are consumer retail; licensee will
be less.

The Food: for the media, there was a light sandwich buffet with pesto
pasta salad, potato salad, roast beef ciabattas, salmon croissants,
cheeses, desserts, and more. For the trade show there were nuts and
fruits plus breads.
The Downside: I did not have enough time to taste all the wines I
wanted to taste, despite being there from 11 AM onwards.
The Upside: there was a media room, well lit, with chairs and tables
and water.
