++ Emiliana Organic Adobe Reserve Merlot 2011 Chile, +322024, $12.95 LCBO: from Rapel Valley, organic fruit that is 85% merlot/15% syrah. 20% of it is all done up in French oak for six months. Lots of red fruit, with a long wood finish. Food suggestion is for cheeses, nuts and dried fruit on the patio? Screw cap, 13.5% ABV. ++ Chateau des Charmes Earth & Sky Riesling 2011 VQA Niagara-on-the-Lake, +343350, $14.95 LCBO: a new line from Chateau des Charmes, emphasizing a light and breezy style in the MVC tradition. This Riesling tastes like it should taste: citric tones with a minerality on the finish which they describe as laser sharp. 12.5% ABV. Twist top.
