The Food: there were food pairing stations (Drake Hotel had smoked
pastrami salmon; Globe Bistro had rabbit confit rillette; Boiler House
had smoked duck breast; the Old Mill had tomato tarte tatin with beef
cheek; Frank AGO had lamb meatballs; Longo's had pulled pork; Cupcake
Diner had, well, cupcakes). The Dairy Farmers of Ontario had Evanturel
Cheese from Thornloe, Cottage Gold from Upper Canada Cheese Co., and
six-year old cheddar from Black River Cheese.
The Downside: it was sheer hell outside, cold and rainy. Since this was
a sold-out consumer show, lots of people still came.
The Upside: some great quality Ontario wines, many of them
showstoppers.
