REPORT ON THE OREGON AND WASHINGTON WINE EXPEDITION

REPORT ON THE OREGON AND WASHINGTON WINE EXPEDITION April 2024

The Date and Time: April 8, 2024  Noon to 4PM

The Event: Oregon & Washington Wine Tasting

The Venue: El Mocambo

The Target Audience: wine writers/media, sommeliers, agents

The Availability/Catalogue: online by request, although many of the producers had their own notes with prices, etc.

The Quote/Background: it was really crowded and spread over three floors and levels. The quest for the partial solar eclipse proved to be a relief.

The Wines: I did not taste all the wines. Many were not available at the LCBO but some will be soon.

The Food: there were Bymark hamburger sliders, salmon on cuke slices, and deep fried crab cakes. I only stayed for half the time, so maybe there was other food as well -- but later in the day.

The Downside: the venue was small and consequently crowded in its arrangement, with a main stage, a mezzanine tiki bar, a main long bar, and a mezzanine studio. It took awhile to get through to the producer tables and request samples.

The Upside: good overall quality wines.
