The Quote/Background: Most of Bokke Wines is from South Africa. Cosman is also President of the South African Wine Society.

The Wines: all prices are for licensees.

-Bodega Goulart Paris Glam 2006 Argentina, $20, 60% Malbec, 40% cab sauvignon, old vines.

-Lammershoek Roulette Blanc 2006 South Africa, $21. Barrel aged blend of old vine Chenin blanc, chardonnay and viognier. 14.5% ABV.

-Lammershoek Pinotage 2006 South Africa, $19.50. 14.5% ABV.

-Zandberg Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 South Africa, $18.50. 14.5% ABV.

 

***1/2 Three and a Half Stars (8890 in Quality/Price Rating terms):

-Domiciano de Barrances Malbec 2006 Argentina, $15.

-Weingut-Huber Riesling Terrasen 2007 Austria, $21.50

-Rimu Grove Pinot Noir 2005 New Zealand, $38. 14.5% ABV.

-Lammershoek Roulette Red 2005 South Africa, $24. Cote du Rhone style. 14.5% ABV.

-Lammershoek Syrah 2006 South Africa, $30.50. 14.5% ABV.

-Weingut-Huber Gruner Veltliner Obere Steigen 2007 Austria, $19.

 

The Food: two cheeses, one a smoked gouda, and breads.

The Downside: it was just after the Pre-Cuvee tasting, and it was raining during out walk.

The Upside: great end to the day.
