The Food: Appetizer yellowfin tuna tartare with apple puree and baby fennel (Chateau Martinolles Limoux Blanc 2011, all chardonnay and yummy); Fish wild digby scallops with parsnip puree and corned beef cheek, a sort of surf and turf (Chateau Paul Mas Belluguette Blanc 2012, very fruity with 40% vermentino); Meat roasted muscovy duck breast crispy confit and dried cherries (Chateau Paul Mas Clos de Savignac 2011 and Chateau Paul Mas Clos du Moulinas 2011 both earthy and rich); Artisanal Local Cheeses (Chateau Cres Ricards Oenothera 2011)
The Downside: occasional cigarette smoke from outside was vented into the room.
